November, 29, 2019

On the 15th of November the Embassy of France in Rome hosted the third edition of the Italy-France Forum on Family Businesses, an initiative promoted by IREFI – the Institute for Economic Relations between France and Italy in collaboration with several partners among which INSME.

This year’s forum explored how to promote and facilitate the cooperation among French and Italian enterprises as well as the relationships between institutional actors and business associations with the aim to give a boost to the community established on the occasion of the previous editions of the forum.

INSME President Sergio Arzeni was among the experts invited to the forum and moderated a session dedicated to the crucial role business associations play in internationalization processes.

During the debate Mr. Arzeni highlighted that attracting, selecting and especially retaining talents has to be considered one of the keys for companies’ success.

Furthermore in order to improve their performances SMEs and of course family businesses should:

– Reinforce relations with clusters in global value chains;
– Encourage public-private partnerships;
– Link Europe with Africa, as it is a potential market to invest in given i) the relations that historically tie Italy, France and the African continent and ii) more importantly, the very promising perspectives in terms of both economic and demographic growth which make Africa a land of opportunities.
