Eureka!Venture sgr is a new investment fund that will support deep tech start-ups, in particular it aims at transforming innovative ideas from Italian universities and research centres in the fields of materials sciences and engineering into marketable solutions, technologies and spin-offs.
The choice to invest in advanced materials and their applications builds upon the fact that Italy is still one of the top players in the manufacturing sector in Europe and this encompasses the possibility to access the best ideas generated in Italian laboratories, share them with companies and – by adopting an open innovation approach – bring those ideas to the market. With this in mind strategic partnerships have been established with the Technology Transfer IIT and the Politecnico di Torino as well as with other 17 Italian research centres and universities.
Eureka!Venture sgr can count on the support of the European Investment Fund that committed for € 30 million through the ITA Tech platform and on its shareholders among which META Group (holding INSME vice presidency).
The objective for the next 10 years is to make 28 investments, 14 follow-on and 8 exit.
