Cities and regions increasingly need to both foster home-grown start-ups and attract others from across the continent to stimulate economic growth. Challenge-based innovation is a process composed of four stages:
- the city and its stakeholders identify the city’s Unique Service Proposition and map its local champions;
- the cities and the stakeholders identify the key challenges they want to tackle;
- the challenges are launched through roadshows and other communication activities;
- start-ups and entrepreneurs pitch their solutions to those challenges. The best solutions will be selected to receive mentoring and online training.
Cities, regions and companies displayed on the map will benefit from access to META Group’s network of challenge owners, business angels, incubators & more; incubation services like mentoring, training, facilitation, regional innovation ecosystem design services as well as technical and communications support.
