On the 20th of September the European Association of Development Agencies – EURADA (INSME Member from Belgium) hosted the kick off meeting of XPRESS (Support for Public Procurements to facilitate the collaboration between SMEs and public sector for the development and adoption in renewables in regions), a project funded under the EU Horizon 2020 programme and coordinated by APRE – the Agency for the Promotion of European Research.
The project will demonstrate how innovative Green Public Procurements (GPPs) could positively impact on cities, municipalities and SMEs in terms of energy savings, energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions and the 16 project partners – among which INSME – will be committed to facilitate the introduction of innovative Renewable Energy Sources-RES technologies and increase the share of renewable energy in the final energy consumption.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Dimitrios Sofianopoulos, Project Officer at INEA, the EU Innovation and Networks Executive Agency who expressed appreciation for the work the consortium carried out during the preparatory phase and encouraged all partners to keep on the good approach adopted so far that has to be translated into action in the next 36 months.
