The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs – SECO funds the Global Quality and Standards Programme implemented by UNIDO

November, 2, 2018

Last September UNIDO (INSME Member) organised an event to present the Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP), a large-scale programme with a total budget of CHF 17.35m (ca. 15m EUR) to encourage systematic trade development along specific value chains by strengthening quality infrastructure institutions and service providers, enhancing the compliance capacity of private sector actors, particularly small and medium enterprises, and creating a culture of quality among all stakeholders.

The GQSP is funded by the Swiss Confederation, through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs – SECO (INSME Member) and is implemented by UNIDO. In its first phase the programme will target the following countries: Colombia, Ghana, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Peru, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam.

On the same occasion the Trade, Investment and Innovation Knowledge Hub was also launched: an interactive platform which is a joint initiative of UNIDO, the Swiss Confederation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. The TII Hub provides latest news and events, offers a range of interactive web tools, shares knowledge and publications and also includes a training platform.
