INSME member Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) attended the first edition of GITEX Europe, the continent’s largest technology and startup event, marking a historic expansion of the renowned GITEX Global brand beyond Dubai. Held at Messe Berlin and lasted from May 21 to 23, the event brought together more than 40,000 professionals from over 100 countries, and featured over 2,500 exhibitors, 1,500 startups, 800 investors, and 500 speakers, all focused on the future of technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Bringing together 48 Bulgarian companies and organizations, the BSMEPA stand featured leaders from sectors including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, green technologies, fintech, and more. The opening ceremony of the Bulgarian presence at GITEX Europe included speeches by Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Martin Danovski, BSMEPA Executive Director and INSME member Dr. Boyko Takov, and Rositsa Ivanova, Head of Bulgaria’s Trade and Economic Office in Berlin. Their participation underscored Bulgaria’s strategic commitment to digital innovation and its growing role in Europe’s tech landscape and the national initiative for SME internationalization, funded through the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme 2021–2027.
With dedicated content tracks, B2B matchmaking, pitch sessions, and international networking opportunities, GITEX Europe has positioned itself as a critical platform for shaping the future of Europe’s digital economy. By leading Bulgaria’s national participation, BSMEPA reaffirmed its mission to support SMEs in accessing new global markets, forging cross-border partnerships, and showcasing their capabilities on the international stage.
