BVMW and Google Launched Joint Training Programmes in 10 Cities

31 May 2022

On the 4th of May 2022, the Federal Association of SMEs (BVMW), INSME Member, and the Google Future Workshop have launched a joint training programme with the goal of fair, equal and accessible digitalisation to all interested parties related to SMEs. Following the launch in Munich, the programme will be expanded to 10 German cities by 2023. As with the overarching Google future Workshop initiative, participants can take part in the training courses both in person and in virtual form.

Currently, four out of five German companies expect their employees to learn new digital skills. However, not all employees have the same opportunities to build up the necessary expertise. This leads to a worsening of career prospects, especially for women, although the willingness to undergo further training is equally pronounced at 94 per cent for both sexes. This creates opportunities for the future with its low-threshold services in order to make digital education accessible and attractive to all.

Digital literacy is the crucial factor for the economic success of the future. Areas such as climate protection and mobility can also benefit from digitalisation processes. The education initiative opportunities for the future helps to make the potential for digitalisation accessible locally and in a low-threshold manner.
