INSME President at the IREFI Forum on “From tradition to innovation: how family businesses contribute to the development of Industry 4.0 and Innovation”

On the 19th of November, in the beautiful framework of Palazzo Farnese in Rome, INSME President, Sergio Arzeni served as moderator in a session of the IREFI (Institute for Economic Relations between France and Italy) Forum on “From tradition to innovation: how family businesses contribute to the development of Industry 4.0 and Innovation”.

The Forum counted on the participation of Italian and French experts representing four categories of actors: business associations, consultants and representatives from the industry as well as public institutions.
The debate focused on the political and institutional support to innovative SMEs and Industry 4.0; explored how family businesses can develop innovation giving room to the next generation of entrepreneurs and last but not least discussed how to build an ecosystem involving family businesses, universities, incubators and startups among French and Italy.
The session moderated by Mr. Arzeni dedicated to the institutional support to the development of innovative enterprises and Industry 4.0 in Italy and France, brought to the identification of crucial elements to encourage innovation within French and Italian family businesses and more generally in SMEs, among them: i) simplification and harmonization of the regulatory framework; ii) public and private investments in trainings iii) attention to human capital.
