INSME Secretary General presenting best practices on “Internationalisation Strategies for Start-ups” at the NEXT SOCIETY Advocacy Panel in Egypt

November, 2, 2018

THE NEXT SOCIETY project organised the 2nd Advocacy Panel for an Innovation Policy Agenda in Cairo on the 10th of October 2018 to bring forward the discussion on the priorities identified during the first meeting to improve the Egyptian innovation ecosystem: access to markets, access to talents, access to finance, IP enforcement and enhanced collaboration among all key actors of the ecosystem. On this occasion and drawing from the experience of the INSME Network, INSME Secretary General Giovanni Zazzerini, presented internationalisation strategies for start-ups. Mr. Zazzerini underlined that success factors of SMEs internationalisation are rooted in the domestic setup where firms observe success stories of other SMEs and understand internationalisation barriers (lack of financial resources, lack of information, logistics, etc.). To overcome these obstacles it is essential to develop competencies that can support companies in being part of a cluster and that have to be backed by governmental policies. For any further information, the presentation is available here.
