Ministers and high-level participants from 55 different countries (OECD members and non-members) will meet on 27-28 June 2023 at the OECD Headquarters in Paris to discuss and exchange ideas on these issues, under the theme of the meeting “Managing shocks and transitions – Future proofing SME and Entrepreneurship Policies”. Participants will discuss these themes while focusing on strengthening SMEs and entrepreneurs’ resilience to future crises and shocks, fostering the contribution of SMEs and entrepreneurs to the green and digital transitions, and finally enabling SMEs and entrepreneurs to navigate the changing global trade and investment landscape.
In the context of this crucial event, on 26 June, INSME’s Vice President Markus Jerger will participate in the “SME and Entrepreneurship Stakeholder Dialogue” event organised jointly by Business at OECD (BIAC), the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE) at the occasion of the Ministerial Meeting of the OECD Committee on SMEs and Entrepreneurship (CSMEE). The event is intended to foster exchange and bring together SME representatives, officials from international business associations, as well as high-level government officials–including Ministers.
As the international business community continues to struggle for financial stability, government action can help build the resilience of SMEs, which represent about 99% of all firms in OECD countries, andentrepreneurs.
The stakeholder dialogue will touch on the following thematic areas:
- Navigating the rapidly changing business climate and building the resilience of SMEs and entrepreneurs
- Mobilising SMEs and entrepreneurs in the green and digital transformations
- The well-being of SMEs and entrepreneurs
The event will be of extreme importance for SMEs since are threatened by the most pressing challenges of today’s business situation. For this reason, the event will provide a valuable opportunity to share views from the business community on what is needed to future-proof SMEs and entrepreneurs and on how the private sector can contribute to this objective.
