Register to the EU-African SME Summit, 21-22 October 2021

The second edition of the EU- Africa SME Summit will be held on October 21-22 in Rome, Dakar and online. The summit organized by INSME members CONFAPI and European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME and INSME, aims to be an opportunity to deepen the links between the world of SMEs in Europe and Africa.

As SMEs are the backbone of many economies in both Africa and Europe, the conference aims to bring European and African entrepreneurs into play, encourage them to cooperate and co-invest, build alliances, joint ventures and partnerships through appropriate support and monitoring structures and mechanisms to verify the effectiveness and impact of their initiatives. The event will focus on entrepreneurship, professional training and investments as keys for a strong African Mittelstand and a good basis for shared value business, which truly will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, the summit will be an opportunity to launch new initiatives to increase collaboration between the European and African business communities. Prominent initiatives include the launch of the Italian-African SME Alliance and the launch of the Africa IP SME Helpdesk, managed by EU-Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and DG INTRA of the European Commission.

Moreover, the event will feature the participation of important personalities from the world of politics and SMEs, such as Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, South African Minister of Small Business Development, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi di Maio, Italian Minister for Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti INSME President Sergio Arzeni, Tiekie Barnard, founder and CEO of Shared Value Africa Initiative SVAI, and David Mckenzie, lead economist, Development and Research Group World Bank, to name a few.
