INSME recently welcomed representatives from the Shenzhen FinTech Association for an exchange focused on strengthening connections between the Chinese and European innovation ecosystems. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss Shenzhen’s rapidly developing financial technology sector, international cooperation and potential opportunities for businesses and innovation organizations across the INSME network.
Shenzhen has established itself as a major center for the convergence of finance and technology. Its ecosystem brings together financial institutions, technology companies, innovative SMEs, investors and public-sector initiatives, creating an environment where new financial technologies can move from development to real-world application.
The Association expressed its willingness to help INSME members and partners better understand Shenzhen’s fintech ecosystem through business matchmaking, connections with industrial resources, policy guidance and consulting support. For European SMEs interested in China, this type of connection could provide a more direct route to understanding the local market, identifying potential partners and exploring opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
The Shenzhen FinTech Association also shared its work on research concerning international expansion and fintech talent, while preparing a new publication focused on AI + Finance applications and innovation cases. These resources could offer additional insight into how emerging technologies are being applied within Shenzhen’s financial sector and where opportunities for international cooperation may develop.
The visit builds on INSME’s mission to Shenzhen in late March and early April, further strengthening the dialogue between the INSME network and Shenzhen’s fintech community. It also opens new opportunities for knowledge exchange, international partnerships and cooperation on innovative solutions to support SMEs in accessing finance and competing in increasingly digital markets.
