In the framework of The Next Society project, in collaboration with MED MSMEs, INSME will hold in April the 4th Policy Lab. The aim of the series of Policy Labs is to share and enhance the experience on innovation in the Mediterranean area, to foster the debate, and discuss the replicability of the identified “good practice” in other contexts.
Morocco’s foreign trade will be at the center of the next Policy Lab’s discussion, as it will analyze PortNet: a unique project implemented over the last decade which consists of a national single-window platform for all Morocco’s trade actors. The pioneering initiative was launched in 2008 by the Moroccan National Port Authority and is now a profitable and successful public-private partnership, which simplified the procedures of entry and exit of vessels and goods from ports in Morocco through digitalization. Starting with the ports of Agadir and Casablanca, PortNet now includes almost all the Moroccan ports, connecting them with the other infrastructures, such as railways and airports.
The PortNet Policy Lab will be the occasion to discuss, with experts from Morocco’s Ministry of Industry local SMEs, and representatives from PortNet itself, which factors made PortNet a success story, by analysing its impact on the innovation ecosystem and growth of the country at micro and macro level, as well as the inspirational value to promote the replicability of the project.
