The World Intellectual Property Organisation, WIPO, published its annual Global Innovation Index. The aim of the report is to rank the innovation ecosystem performance of economies, focusing, particularly, on innovation strengths and weaknesses. Through a series of indicators, the Index is considered a useful tool to monitor performance and benchmark developments economies belonging to the same geographical region or income groups.
The present Global Innovation Index focuses on the economic performances of countries in terms of innovation and best practices, with particular attention to sensitive issues such as sustainability, inclusion, and green development. Moreover, this report examines, also, the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on innovation.
