The U.S. Small Business Administration announces the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Road Tour

April, 30, 2019

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the launch of a 16-stop road tour to raise awareness of innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and small technology firms on the funding opportunities provided though the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

The SBIR/STTR programs, also known as America’s Seed Fund, provide over $3 billion in early stage funding to small businesses each year in a wide variety of technology areas such as unmanned systems, advanced materials, health, cybersecurity and defense. The programs execute over 5,000 new awards annually, which allow innovators to advance new technologies and contribute to the creation of thousands of jobs.

Each stop of the tour will be hosted by local innovation supporters. Programs managers from the participating federal agencies will engage through one-on-one meetings with small businesses, take part in targeted panels to discuss technology areas and share insights into how the agencies make funding decisions.

The tour will start on the 20th of May with Oklahoma City.
