AECM Annual Event – Athens, Greece

The European Association of Guarantee Institutions held its Annual Event on June 15th in Athens, Greece. The conference focused on the regulatory and policy framework for SMEs, titled “The regulatory framework of SMEs: How close are we to the red line of red tape?” where Secretary General of INSME, Giovanni Zazzerini, spoke at the conference hosted by AECM in partnership with Hellenic Development Bank. The General Assembly’s public session was a remarkable event filled with distinguished speakers and valuable insights. Thirty-five brilliant speakers from 16 countries and representatives from international institutions, provided key information on SME support, regulation and innovation and the way they all intertwine. A special announcement was made by Lucia Cusmano about the newly formed knowledge partnership between the OECD Platform on Financing SMEs for Sustainability and AECM, which was met with gratitude and enthusiasm. 

The event concluded with the Global Network of Guarantee Institutions (GNGI) annual meeting, featuring engaging discussions and the election of Bernhard Sagmeister and the reelection of Mohammed Al-Jafari as co-coordinators.
