14 July 2023

Invest Cyprus and ANIMA Investment Network have jointly announced the establishment of EUROMED iHouse, a service platform based in Nicosia, Cyrpus aimed at supporting the innovation and green transition of economic operators in the Euro-Mediterranean region. This initiative, unveiled during the ANIMA Annual Forum, seeks to mobilize the business community in the region to address the challenges of climate change and promote sustainable development. EUROMED iHouse will serve as a hub for collaboration, hosting startups, facilitating research transfer, and fostering cooperation among Euro-Mediterranean countries.

The ANIMA network, comprising around 70 economic organizations from 22 countries in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, aims to promote economic cooperation and contribute to sustainable development. Recognizing the need for innovative solutions and technology to tackle climate change, ANIMA and Invest Cyprus have chosen Cyprus as the location for EUROMED iHouse due to its strategic position and vibrant innovation ecosystem.

The platform will provide support to companies, help create value-driven solutions considering the planet’s limitations, and address the challenges faced by the Mediterranean region. EUROMED iHouse will collaborate with international organizations, particularly the European Union, to implement cooperative projects and support innovation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The establishment of EUROMED iHouse enhances Cyprus’ position as a regional hub for research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and development. Supported by the EU, the Republic of Cyprus, and various local entities, this initiative will contribute to the country’s long-term strategy for sustainable economic development. It represents an important milestone in joint efforts to promote research, innovation, and cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, positioning Cyprus as a focal point for collaboration and fostering growth in research institutes, centers of excellence, and startups.
