Delve into the world of AI: INSME 19th Annual Meeting in Berlin

INSME is proud to announce that its 19th Annual Meeting will take place in Berlin, co-hosted with its German partner BVMW, the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses. This key event is scheduled to take place on 9-10 October 2023 in the German capital and will focus on: “Artificial Intelligence Opportunities and Transformation Challenges for SMEs”.  It aims to explore the intersection of SMEs and artificial intelligence, examining how the adoption of AI can advantage businesses, the workforce, and contribute to their long-term success. High level international speakers from INSME’s network and members of the association will be invited to take the floor and discuss the ever-growing use of AI and its implications for SMEs; the debate will be articulated into four specific sessions.   

During the morning session, participants will explore how small and medium sized enterprises can effectively leverage AI technologies to drive innovation and improve their competitive edge and the importance of AI and software skills for small and medium business workers.  

In the afternoon, the session will delve into risk mitigation and ethics related to AI implementation in SMEs. The discussion will address regulatory and legal aspects, data protection threats, biases, and limitations of AI algorithms, and ensuring fairness and transparency in AI applications. The final panel will focus on supporting policies for AI adoption in SMEs. It will analyze possible successful AI policies and initiatives that specifically target SMEs and foster positive outcomes, touching upon important current proposals, such as the European AI Act and its implications.
