European Food Fraud Network – Community of Practice

European Food Fraud Network – Community of Practice (EFF-CoP) is an exciting and innovative project funded under the Horizon Europe program, that aims to contrast food fraud and enhance transparency in food supply chains, mobilizing an unprecedented and vibrant community of over 5000 members, including scientists, regulatory agencies, large and small-sized industry, laboratories and any other active stakeholder, committed to creating a sustainable future of greater traceability and confidence in our foods. EFF-CoP, starting from the 1st of January, is a three-year initiative, led by Professor Saskia Van Ruth from the University of Dublin and involves 20 organizations from across Europe and beyond, among which representatives of existing networks and consortia such as the Food Authenticity Network and the Food Industry Intelligence Network.

The key objectives of the projects are:

  • Build and empower The European Food Fraud Community of Practice (EFF-CoP), a sustainable research and innovation ecosystem that brings together food fraud researchers and end-users;
  • Gain insight into the needs of the different stakeholder groups and analyze the network structure to prioritise content and optimize information flows effectively;
  • Set up the EFF-Hub as a virtual, interactive, and collaborative platform;
  • Host dynamic virtual and live events to facilitate interactive collaboration, sharing cutting-edge research, innovative tools, and educational materials. The event lineup will range from immersive food fraud festivals to gamification-based training courses, webinars, virtual cafes, workshops, and more;
  • Shape a future where food supply chains are defined by greater authenticity, traceability, and transparency at every step.

INSME is a partner of EFF-CoP and will offer its expertise and provide assistance throughout the different tasks of the project, overseeing the development and leveraging its global network of business support organizations.
