INSME President Sergio Arzeni intervention at WBAF Antalya, 25 October 2022

On 25 and 26 October, the World Business Angels Forum (WBAF) took place in Antalya, “Digital transformation for post-pandemic economies” was discussed. At this occasion, INSME President Sergio Arzeni took the opportunity to remind that Turkey embraced a policy conducive to fostering new firm creation and SME development facilitating access to credit.

He moreover made a point on how Mediterranean economies can flourish if they focus public policies on entrepreneurship, innovation and SMEs. Mr Arzeni highlighted that Mediterranean economies have a great opportunity to diversify and becoming more sustainable and resilient by spreading digital technologies and moving into the world of renewable energies, stating that “it is crucial to tap and channel private sector savings in forms alternative to banks and for this mission the role of business angels and venture capitalists is paramount”.
