INSME Partner KOBIA (Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan) has taken a significant step in advancing sustainable development with the launch of its Unified Platform and National Standard for Environmental, Social and Governance practices. At a recent conference, KOBIA presented this initiative to local and international stakeholders, emphasizing its critical role in fostering sustainability and enhancing the global competitiveness of Azerbaijani businesses.
The Unified Platform is designed to simplify ESG reporting and adoption processes, providing SMEs with centralized framework to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. This initiative is complemented by the National ESG Standard, which offers clear guidelines for addressing environmental impacts, improving social responsibility, and strengthening governance. Together, these tools aim to empower SMEs to align with global ESG benchmarks while contributing to national development goals.
By spearheading this initiative, KOBIA demonstrates its commitment to supporting SMEs in navigating the sustainability landscape. This action aligns with Azerbaijan’s dedication to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and positions the country as a regional leader in ESG integration. The launch reinforces also the importance of sustainable practices for long-term economic growth and sets a benchmark for other nations in the region.
