On April 17, Sapienza Università di Roma hosted a one-day training course organised by INSME Member META Group together with other partners. The training provided valuable insights into using licensing as a strategic tool for intellectual asset management. Attendees gained hands-on experience with the IMPACT IP Tool-box, which offers over 30 tools designed to support inclusive and effective licensing models. The workshop attracted technology transfer professionals, IP experts, and innovation managers eager to enhance their impact and strategies in intellectual property management.
The course focused specifically on how impact licensing can be leveraged as a strategic instrument for intellectual asset management. Throughout the day, three key application areas were explored: “Classical+”, addressing licensing approaches within the Social Sciences and Humanities; “Crisis”, focusing on enabling equitable access to technologies in emergency contexts; and “Co-development”, examining the management of intellectual property generated within complex partnerships and collaborative projects.
The Rome workshop marks a significant milestone in the rollout of the IMPAC3T-IP Academy, moving the project from theoretical framework to practical application. By equipping technology transfer professionals with a standardized “toolbox,” the initiative addresses the long-standing barrier between complex research and market-ready innovation.
