INSME member the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism recently participated in the SME Envoys Network meeting held in Budapest, which marked the official launch of SME Week 2024. This event brought together representatives from EU Member States and the European Commission to address key challenges and opportunities for SMEs.
One of the central themes of the meeting was the upcoming Single Market Strategy. This ambitious initiative aims to streamline access to information for SMEs, facilitate cross-border activities, and align business operations with the EU’s green and digital transitions. Stakeholders will soon have the opportunity to provide input through public consultations, enabling a collective effort to design a strategy that reflects the needs of the SME community.
The Ministry highlighted Romania’s commitment to fostering a competitive and innovative business environment. By participating in these discussions, Romania seeks to shape policies that remove barriers and enhance support for SMEs, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the evolving Single Market landscape.
As the EU moves forward in defining its priorities, collaboration between Member States and stakeholders will be critical. Thus, the SME Envoys Network meeting underscored the importance of joint efforts in creating a more inclusive, sustainable, and dynamic economy where SMEs can thrive and continue driving Europe’s economic growth.
