SAP and BVMW Launch Strategic Partnership to support German SME’s

SAP and the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses, BVMW, launched a strategic partnership in October 2026 to help German SMEs strengthen their digital capabilities. The partnership will support companies in using modern business processes, artificial intelligence and cloud technology to improve productivity, respond more quickly to change and create sustainable growth.

The initiative comes as SMEs face growing pressure from complex supply chains, new regulations, staff shortages and stronger competition. While digital tools can help address these challenges, many smaller companies need practical guidance to choose the right technology and use it effectively. SAP and BVMW therefore want to help businesses turn digitalization into real value rather than treating it as a goal on its own.

As part of the partnership, the two organizations will offer events, webinars and other activities focused on issues such as supply-chain resilience, productivity, staff shortages and AI. They will also share successful examples from SMEs and connect BVMW members with SAP experts, industry knowledge and specialized partners. This will help companies learn from businesses that have faced similar challenges and reduce the risks of introducing new systems.

The partnership combines BVMW’s direct knowledge of its members with SAP’s experience in technology and business processes. More than 80% of SAP’s customers worldwide are SMEs, giving the company a strong understanding of the needs of growing businesses. By combining this experience with BVMW’s business network, the partnership aims to make digital transformation more practical and accessible while helping German SMEs stayinnovative and competitive.
