15 Sept 2023

SME Finance Forum, an INSME member, has appointed Mr Qamar Saleem as the new CEO of the organisation. Mr. Qamar Saleem has a lot to live up to in the position, but his predecessor, Matthew Gamser is more than confident that Mr. Qamar Saleem will exceed expectations.  INSME joins this belief, and wishes to thank Mr. Gamser for the outstanding work he has done. Matt Gamser will be remembered for his leadership that expanded membership and consolidated the budget of the SME Finance Forum building a formidable network of alliances for which he has been praised by the World Bank, the OECD and the G20.

With 30 years of experience in global financial services offered across over 60 countries internationally by managing large businesses, as well as leasing multi-cultural and cross-functional teams, Mr. Saleem is more than qualified and ready to take the lead. Before being named CEO of SME Finance Forum, Saleem was the manager of financial institutions group advisory services for Asia and Pacific. He led the team across 20 countries to provide integrated investment solutions about MSME, gender, climate, digital, housing, trade and supply chain finance. He is a true champion of sustainability as seen through his personal commitment and public service.

The appointment of Saleem as CEO is a huge win for SMEs internationally as he will serve as an invaluable resource in the SME Finance Forum.
