On 21 February 2023 INSME participated in the seminar “The growth of the innovation ecosystem in Europe and Italy: historical perspectives and future developments” that took place in Rome, Italy. INSME had the opportunity to hear from some of the major trailblazers of European innovation, such as Prof. Luigi Nicolais, Prof. Fabio Pistella, Eng. Luigi Amati, Nicoletta Amodio, Marco Baccanti.

The seminar aimed to share innovative ways to improve technological transition in Italy and Europe. The speeches were full of proposals and challenges posed on the Italian economic and social development system and they gave the audience many ideas to reflect on. The main topics covered were:

  • Continuity between research and innovation
  • Sustainable development
  • Women entrepreneurship
  • Intellectual property
  • Advocacy, network, matchmaking and program initiative

INSME took part in this event by sharing its point of view on the above-mentioned topics. In particular, it questioned the audience about the rank of the Italian model of innovation; there is the need to scale up to have remarkable visibility among other European member states. The bottom-up strategy is to foster startups to let them grow successfully in the marketplace.
